USHA International launches ‘USHA Ultimate Delhi-GHT 2012 Frisbee Tournament’

New Delhi: USHA International, one of India’s leading consumer durables companies is the first company in India to encourage the exciting new sport, ULTIMATE FRISBEE. Usha is bringing in Brodie Smith, International ULTIMATE FRISBEE expert to India to promote the game. Top teams from across India are participating in this year’s edition of the tournament.  
 
ULTIMATE, a game played using a flying disc called Frisbee is the fastest growing team sport in the world. Internationally, it is well developed and now equipped with sporting rules and regulations to present a 60-minute, highly-energetic and impactful sporting event. Apart from its competitive nature, ULTIMATE is a sport that promotes cooperation and communication among youth. It is self–refereed by players and all decisions are resolved through a quick discussion, bringing in a strong spirit of sportsmanship and respect.
 
Teams include Storm Chasers (Mumbai), Stray Dogs in Sweaters, Sexy Cats in Tuxedos, Metro Delhi International School (all from Delhi), Dream Catchers (Ahmedabad), Learning to Fly, DOD Ultimate (Bangalore) Sher Singhs (Chandigarh), Four Play (Chennai) and Flying Spirits (Pune) will contest for the top honour of this premier ULTIMATE tournament to be held this year at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from 16thto 18th of November.
 
Usha International has been holding clinics in around 25 schools in Delhi/ NCR where trained ULTIMATE professionals are spreading awareness about the game and tutoring school children. Response from schools has been overwhelming.  Brodie Smith himself will be visiting a few schools and teaching key skills of the sport thereby motivating the youth to take up this unique sport.
