Cricket, nudity and her acts of infamy land Poonam Pandey in trouble, Bangalore court issues summons to the model

If cricket, controversy, nudity and the art of hogging limelight in the social media has given Poonam Pandey a lot of fame through the acts of infamy and has helped her in redeeming her dream of making an entry into Bollywood through an adult film called Nasha, her this very act has now landed her in trouble as a local Bangalore court on Wednesday ordered that summons be issued to Mumbai-based model after it admitted a private complaint accusing her of hurting religious sentiments by posing semi-nude holding a photograph of Lord Vishnu with the face of Sachin Tendulkar which was uploaded on YouTube.

According to a report in The DNA, the sixth additional chief metropolitan magistrate Churi Khan directed her to appear on February 26 next on the complaint filed by advocate S Umesh who in his complaint filed in May said Poonam had made a statement last year that she would pose nude along with Indian cricketers if India won the World Cup against Pakistan.

“And when India won the cup in April 2011,she had reportedly posed semi-nude with the photograph to cheer the winning team and later uploaded it on YouTube,” says the DNA report.

Meanwhile according to a report in The Times Of India, On May 22, lawyer S Umesh filed a private complaint before the VI additional chief metropolitan magistrate against Pandey for exhibiting nudity and hurting religious sentiments.

“The court took cognizance of the case under section 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feeling). The court posted the case to February 22, 2013,” says the report, adding that the complainant said Pandey had declared in March that if the Indian team won the cricket World Cup, she would pose in the nude.

“Accordingly, she had posed nude with the pictures of a Hindu god and Sachin Tendulkar. He also said he sent a notice to her on March 31 to her address in Thane, Maharashtra, but there was no response. She had outraged religious sentiments of the people of the country, the petition alleged,” says the TOI report.
