New Delhi: Procam, International, pioneers of the “International Running Movement: in India, have joined hands with the Hyderabad 10K Foundation and have been entrusted with the responsibility of transforming the Hyderabad 10K into a completely new entity. Towards this end, Procam International have roped in Jamba Cloud as the title sponsor and in the presence of the Hon’ble Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Shri Nandendla Manohar and members of the Hyderabad 10K Foundation, today announced the Kamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K, which will be run in the city on Sunday, November 25.
The race on November 25, 2012 will be the 10thedition of this prestigious event and this milestone occasion will be used to lay the foundations for transforming the event into a completely new entity.
Also present on the occasion was Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh, along with Raj Assomull, representing the board of of Jamba Cloud, besides Uma Chigurupati, Chairperson Hyderabad 10K Run Foundation, Anil & Vivek B Singh of Procam International, the promoters of the event, representatives of the events partners and various dignitaries and celebrities.
Announcing the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K, Erik Holling of Jamba Cloud said in a message, "Jamba Cloud is excited to be the title sponsor of this international distance running event. Speaking on the occasion Uma Chigurupati, Chairperson Hyderabad 10K Foundation, said, “We are proud to announce that this is the 10th year of the 10K Run, which has introduced running to the city, and today the Run has become an integral part of the people’s psyche and very close to their hearts.
This year, we have associated with Procam International, an organization which is renowned nationally & internationally for organizing international running events in Delhi, Mumbai & Bangalore.”
Procam International kick started the running movement in India with the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon in 2004, following it up with the Delhi Half Marathon, initiated in 2005, before traveling to Bangalore city with the World 10K, Bangalore which was first run in 2008. The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon is now ranked amongst the top ten marathons in the world, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is the world’s most prestigious Half Marathon, while the TCS World 10K is the richest in the world over that distance.
All the three events also hold the IAAF Gold Label, the highest distinction for organisational excellence and other parameters awarded to a road running event. It is with this pedigree and background that Procam International now brings to the people of Hyderabad the Jamba Cloud Hyderabd 10K run.
About 15,000 people are expected to be a part of this momentous event on November 25th, participating in the various events of the day.
The Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K, will be certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and conducted under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association and is being partnered by leading brands and corporates in their fields, critical to the fabric of the Event.
While Online Registrations for the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K began on October 27, physical registrations will begin today and will shut as soon as the 15000 running places are full. There are five thousand running places on offer for the 10K Run and 10,000 running places on offer for the 7 km Mazza Run. The official website for the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K is www.procamrunning.in/jambacloudhyd10k, through which online registrations can be done.
There will be two events on Race Day, namely the 10 Km Run, open to those above 15 years of age (born on or before 24-11-1997) and the 7 km Mazza Run, open to those over 12 years of age (born on or before 24-11-2000). The 10K Run will have the overall category, the Indian category, the veteran category, the senior veteran category and super veteran category.
The 10 Km Run will be a compulsorily timed race category and will have an application fee of Rs 550, (including timing chip and service tax). Applicants residing outside India will have to pay USD 25 for the same. The Mazza Run will have an application fee of Rs 350, (including service tax) with applicants residing outside India having to pay USD 15.

One can apply for the Event using any one of the following modes.

•Drop box: Local Hyderabad residents can deposit their application forms along with requisite application fees at the Registration kiosk at the Ground floor, Cyber View Tower, Vittal Rao Nagar, Hitech City, Madhapur, Hyderabad-500 081, near Global edge school (10 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday).
•Post: Applicants can post their filled application form and application fee to P.O. Bag No. 01, Cyberabad Post Office, Madhapur, Hyderabad - 500081.
Entry to the 10K Run category will be confirmed based on confirmation preference criteria, which are explained in detail in the application form.
The total prize money on offer is Rs 17.5 lakh, which will be divided between the overall category and the Indian category. While the overall category will also include the foreign elite athletes, the Indian category is a separate prize fund for Indian men and women athletes, and will also include prize money for veterans, senior veterans and super veterans.
There is prize money up to five places in the Overall Category and Indian category, with the men and women winners in the overall category standing to gain Rs 1.5 lakh each. The men and women winners in the Indian category will take home Rs 1 lakh each while there will also be prize money for the men and women winners in the veteran category (three places), senior veteran category (two places) and super veteran category (two places).
Unique platform to raise money for charity: Distance running events around the world are some of the biggest platforms to raise money for charity and the Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K will also provide a unique platform to raise money for charity, an effort that will be spearheaded by charity partner United Way of Hyderabad. As the Charity Partner, United Way Hyderabad assumes the role of a Philanthropy Exchange for various charities and non-profit organizations registering with the Event.
Those desirous of raising money for charity through the event for causes of their choice can do so through the various charity raising models, namely We Care, Youth Challengers, Corporate Challenge and iCon Runners.
Jamba Cloud Hyderabad 10K Route:The route for the event is in the process of being finalized under the guidelines set by Hugh Jones, General Secretary of the AIMS (Association of International Marathons & Road Races) and the Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association. Hugh Jones, the legendary figure in the world of marathons, winner of the London Marathon in 1982, will be the Race Director to the event.
