New Delhi: All India Tennis Association (AITA) has appointed Hironmoy Chatterjee, a member of the Executive Committee of AITA and Secretary of Bengal Tennis Association as the AITA’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) wef
1st Nov 2012.
This decision was taken by the Executive Board of AITA headed by its President Anil Khanna in consultation with its Hon. Life President Yashwant Sinha.
Hironmoy Chatterjee has more than 36 years of experience in tennis administration and has conducted tournaments from junior level to the World Group Davis Cup Ties. He has comprehensive knowledge of officiating, coaching and development of Tennis.
Hironmoy’s team comprises of 3 Senior Executive Directors, CFO, Development Director, and 10 other full-time paid staff plus coaches deployed in different parts of the country on a part-time basis.
Khanna, President, AITA stated that Hironmoy’s addition to the AITA team will make AITA a truly professionally managed organization. He stated that in today’s environment, it is necessary, in order to maximize the opportunities, that the honorary persons should only be guiding the policy decision and leave the execution and management to full-time executives.
