Greater Noida: Celebrities made a bee-line at the Buddh International Circuit and personalities from sports fraternity and Bollywood came out to show solidarity to the Indian Grand Prix here today.
Here is a look at who graced the race and what they said:
Gagan Narang ( 2012 London Olympic bronze medal at the 10 m air rifle shooting): “It is a wonderful opportunity for me to be part of the F1 race. I’m honoured to wave the chequered flag. It is indeed great to watch other sports gaining importance in India. It is going to be for the first time that I will be experience watching the Indian GP and I want to enjoy every moment of it.”
Neha Dhupia (Bollywood actor): “I missed watching the inaugural Indian Grand Prix. Thankfully this time I cancelled all my appointment and came especially to attend this beautiful mega sorting event. I am a big fan of Hamilton and Button and interacted with them briefly at their team building. By next year we hope to see more new young Indian racers participating at the F1 event.”
Harbhajan Singh (Cricketer): It is remarkable to watch what the team does before the race. I was impressed with the team spirit and the hard work and effort shown by every racer at each race. I was there last year and this year too I did not want to miss the action at the circuit
Geeta Basra (Bollywood actor who accompanied Harbhajan): “This year I my sister along to watch the race. She has just arrived from UK and was very keen to watch the race. Sadly, compared to last year Indian GP we do not see many spectators at the stand
Ajay Devgn (Bollywood actor): “Honestly speaking, I never follow much of F1 race, but I wanted to attend the race because as this will be Michael Schumacher’s last race. Also there was more excitement to listen to the engine revving from the stands.”
Other stars seen in action:
Yuvraj Singh (Cricketer) Sonakshi Sinha (Bollywood actor) Shaan (Singer), Vishal Shekhar (Music composer), Anil Kapoor (Bollywood actor), Omar Abdullah ( J&K Chief Minister)
