Lords tribute to Tiger: Kareena set to join Pataudis in London to attend a dinner hosted by MCC

Even as Kareena-Saif’s wedding are months away, it seems she has already become the part of the Royal Pataudi family, as Kareena Kapoor is set to join the Pataudis for a special trip to London to attend a dinner hosted by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), in memory of late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. According to media reports, Sharmila Tagore, Saif Ali Khan along with sisters Soha Ali Khan and Sabah Ali Khan will attend the dinner hosted by the MCC in honour of Tiger Pataudi.

“The MCC is holding a special dinner in my father's memory at the Long Room in Lords,” Soha said, according to a report in Delhi Times. The relationship between the London Club and the Nawabs of Pataudi goes back a long way. While the senior Nawab of Pataudi wore MCC colours on England’s tour of Australia in 1932-33, his son, Tiger, captained India at Lords in 1967. In recognition of the family's contribution to cricket, MCC commissioned The Pataudi trophy in 2007.

The gala will be hosted at the club's famous Long Room on September 22, the day when Tiger Pataudi passed away due to lung infection last year, says a report in Mail Today. “The wedding date of Saif and Kareena is said to be October 16 - at least that's what Saif's sister Soha Ali Khan tweeted a while back. Kareena, however, has been close to the family for quite awhile now. Ever since she started dating Saif around four years back, she has been attending various family functions of the Pataudi family,” adds the report.
