It has been long speculated that Sachin Tendulkar will be making a debut in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Ferrari Ki Sawari, but despite the release date of the film being so close, nothing has been confirmed from Sachin’s side as yet.
However, Nita and Mukesh Ambani organised an exclusive screening of Vidhu Vinod Chopra's upcoming production, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, for cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar and his family at the Ambani residence, Antilla on Sunday night, says a report in The Mail Today.
The screening has once again added fuel to rumours that Sachin might be making his Bollwyood debut in a cameo in the film. Speculations have suggested that Chopra and the film's debutant director Rajesh Mapuskar have worked hard at keeping Sachin's cameo a secret because they want to tout it as the surprise element in the film.
Another report in the DNA states that ever since the shooting of Ferrari Ki Sawaari has begun, there have been constant speculations about Sachin playing a small role in the film. However, till date there has been no confirmation.
Sachin’s role in the film is still a mystery. “Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra is keeping the truth under wraps. He is takingsteps to ensure that the secret is not busted before the release of the film. So, whoever has watched the film has been strictly asked to keep mum, including Sachin himself.”
The film, scheduled to open on June 15, stars Sharman Joshi along with Boman Irani and has been in the news for Vidya Balan's item dance, Mala jau de. While the crew has been tightlipped about Sachin's possible presence in the film, the cricketer's name finds mention in the promos.
"Before shooting started, its script was narrated to Nita and Sachin. This screening was only meant to mark the completion of the journey of the film," a source said.
Meanwhile aan earlier report in TOI said that the child actor from the much awaited film Ferrari Ki Sawaari bears a striking resemblance to the god of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar.
