Cue Sports: Snooking Shooters wins inaugural Bengal Premier League

snookerKolkata: Snooking Shooters, led by its marquee player Siddharth Parikh and owned by Manoj Agarwal, won the first edition of the Bengal Premier League (Cue Sports) defeating The Rockets 3-1 in the finals. The league was organized by West Bengal Billiards Association and the Bengal Rowing Club, Kolkata.

Snooking Shooters had already secured the berth in final after defeating Cue Magicians 3-1 in the morning session match and in the final they took on The Rockets team owned by Rishabh Dugar having marquee player India No.3 Sundeep Gulati of Delhi.

The first frame was well capitalized by Siddharth Parikh where he scored 85 against 24 of Gulati and took initial lead. In the second frame, The Rockets restored parity when Akram Khan outplayed Debashish Mukhopadhyay 100-61.

The Doubles Frame was crucial for both the teams and here Snooking Shooters with Siddharth Parikh and Wangchuk Bhutia kept the upper hand throughout and defeated the Rockets’ duo Sandeep Gulati and Shakil Ahmed 61-36.

Fourth frame was mere formality where Neeraj Sharma of Snooking Shooters kept up the momentum and defeated Rishabh Dugar 36-03 to wrap up the proceedings and win the inaugural Bengal Premier League to pocket Rs.5.5 Lakh grand prize money.


Mohd. Shoaib Khan was adjudged Best Player of the League

For the best performance throughout the league, Kolkata based player Mohd. Shoaib Khan of Cue Magicians adjudged the best player of the league.

Highest break prize was given to Brijesh Damani of Satrangi Squad for his sparkling break of 116 earlier.
