New Delhi: The 2016 IBSF World 6Red and Team Snooker Championship will see Indian contingent of 32 players those are traveling to Sharm-el-Sheikh (Egypt) Tuesday. The Championship will start on Wednesday, the 20th August at Pyramisa Hotels and Resorts.
The Indian team is led by 15 time world champion and the reigning World 6Red champion Pankaj Advani, who is unbeaten since last two editions. The other Indian players taking part in the championships are Brijesh Damani, Kamal Chawla, Manan Chandra, Alok Kumar, Sourav Kothari, Dharminder Lilly Varun Madan, Shivam Arora, Lucky Vatnani etc.
For team championships, Pankaj Advani is paired with Manan Chandra, Brijesh Damani with Kamal Chawla, Sourav Kothari with Faisal Khan, Shivam Arora with Rahul Sachdev, Varun Madan with Laxman Rawat and few more.
Former World Pro Ranked 64 and Twice Asian Snooker Champion, Yasin Merchant, is also returning to the circuit after a sabbatical of 5 years. He will be playing 6Red event and in Masters Team category his partner will be former Asian Champion Alok Kumar.
In Ladies segment, multiple time National Champion and former World 6Reds Silver winner, Vidya Pillai is pairing with current World Snooker Bronze winner Amee Kamani. The other teams are listed below.
