Indore: PSPB cueist Aditya Mehta came out as the winner of Manisha National Men Snooker Championship 2016 against another PSPB cueist Manan Chandra with flying colours here at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Though it was Manan who started-off the proceedings with a thunderous break of 112 in the first frame itself. But Aditya's vast experience. both in the domestic as well as professional circuits, did not phase him out as he has witnessed many breaks before.
In the second frame Aditya came back with a mini break of 48 to clinch the frame. The sea-saw battle of mini breaks continued after that till the end of session-1 where the score was 3-2 in favour of Manan Chandra.
The 45 minutes intermission brought a new wind to Aditya's game as he consecutively won the next four frames to clinch the final 6-3. Not only did he managed to win these frames but in the process also hits the tournaments highest break in the eight frame of 128.
Meanwhile in the Women's category, Vidya Pillai got her sweet revenge by defeating Amee Kamani who had earlier this year beaten Vidya in the National 6Reds final.
Once again it was a sea-saw battle till the end of the fourth frame as the score board read 2-all. From there, Vidya played a cautious game with some brilliant safety shots and was pouncing whenever she got an opening. The strategy worked as she cleared the next two frames to reclaim her national title that she lost last year to Amee itself.
