Sepang (Malaysia): Lewis Hamilton of McLaren registered best timings in both the practice session at the F1 Malaysian Grand Prix on Friday.
Hamilton, who took pole position in inaugural race of the season in Australia last week, finished with a time of 1min 38.021sec and 1:38.172 in the morning and the afternoon session respectively. He was being trailed by seven times World Champion Michael Schumacher of Mercedes who was 0.361 adrift from the leader followed by Hamilton’s teammate Jenson Button in afternoon practice.
Mercedes' Nico Rosberg was fourth fastest in the afternoon, followed by Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso's and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.
World Champion Sebastian Vettel finished had one more disastrous practice session where he finished 1oth while his teammate Mark Webber finished seventh on the timesheet.
Hamilton’s performance has made him the favorite to win in Malaysia; a race that he has never won has never won or taken pole position.
