Fernando Alonso of the Ferrari team said that he is confident of the team performing well in 2012. Team Ferrari has not started well in the current year.

“We are continuing with development of the new car, maybe we are only taking small steps forward, but they are coming constantly. In Barcelona, the F 2012 was better than it had been in Jerez and it will be better still this week and even more so in Melbourne”, said  Alonso

Alonso completed only 106 laps in the first two days at the Spanish circuit of Jerez, but last week in Barcelona he managed to complete 162 laps in the same period of two days.

Alonso admitted that to maximise the new car’s performance has taken much longer than what they expected but ensured that their performance will improve as there is still a lot of time left before the Melbourne race.
