New Delhi: Sarath Kumar rounded-off an action-packed weekend at the Honda One Make Race as he not only overcame his opponents, but also tricky track conditions to record his second consecutive win in the CBR 250R Team Championship Cup at the Buddh International Circuit here on Sunday. Meanwhile, Aravind B too continued his winning-run at the BIC following his win in Race 1 on Saturday with yet another commanding performance in Race 2 of the Novice Category- CBR 150R Championship Cup of the Honda One Make Race.
Overview: Round 4 of Honda One Make Race & Round 4 of MMSC – FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship
The Fourth Round of the 2015 MMSC- FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship had got off to an exhilarating start on Saturday win Honda CBR 150R Novice Race-1 category when Aravind B zoomed past the finish line in just commendable 10:18:753 minutes. He rounded-off that performance with yet another comprehensive victory on Sunday clocking just 10:18:487 for his 6 laps. Piyush Ranjan (1:41:873) and Anish Shetty D (1:42:235) finished second and third respectively to complete the podium.
The fastest lap time over two days, recorded by Joseph P Mathew during the Race 2 on Sunday, off 1:41:474 minutes; was also the best lap time in the 150cc category across all manufacturers.
Sarath Shines Again
Leading from the start-to-finish over 8-laps, Sarath (12:53:191) starved off a close fight from Sumit Locus Toppo (12:53:525) with yet another impressive performance that did no harm to his growing stature as India’s premiere rider. Dinesh Kumar D (12:58:084) finished third. Sarath had maintained his pole position yesterday as well in Round 4- CBR 250R Race – 1, rounding-off a perfect weekend for the Chennai-boy.
Motorsports enthusiasts in the capital, who stayed back despite rain to watch the races, were treated to high-quality motorsport action as the Round 4 of the Honda One Make Race set many pulses racing during an actioned packed weekend at the Buddh International Circuit tracks.
Honda One Make Race completes 8 years
Since its inception in 2008, the Honda One Make Race continues to grow in scale and prestige, drawing a total of 319 entries in 2014 from biking enthusiasts converging from as far as Mizoram, Ahmedabad, Ranchi, Aizwal, Jalgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trichy and Aoroville.
Bringing intense adrenaline and excitement to the race, the CBR 250R category was under a Team Championship wherein Honda leased out 16 CBR 250R performance bikes to teams registered at FMSCI. Excluding the engine, chassis and tires of CBR 250R and enable permitted performance enhancing modifications to the vehicle. Honda further supported participating teams with Original Spare parts worth Rs. 10,000 and set of tyres replacement per round. These vehicles are modified with imported HRC performance kits for an exhilarating output.
Honda requires all participants to have undergone extensive racing training from Honda Ten10 Racing Academy or any other training school recognized by MMSC (Madras Motor Sports Club). This is done basically to ensure the riders’ safety at the track.
