Round 3 of 12th National Rotax Karting C’ship to be hosted in Coimbatore

National Rotax Karting CshipCoimbatore: After two exciting rounds, the 12th JK Tyre-FMSCI National Rotax Karting Championship will now travel to Coimbatore for the third round which is scheduled at the Kari Motor Speedway from August 22-23, 2015.

After witnessing thrilling action in Round 1& 2, the third round of the championship assures to keep the adrenaline high not just among the racers but, also the audience. The qualifying and heats will be held on Saturday and the pre-final & final races will be held from Sunday morning onwards. The weekend promises a lot of speed and action as the drivers fiercely compete with each other to get a step closer to win the overall champion’s title.

Over 40 young karters will be seen competing in Round 3 of the championship where drivers will be seen racing on karts that run on the new Evo Max engines, a new introduction this year that is intended to enhance the driver’s performance at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit which is 1.2 kms in length.

The first two rounds of the Championship witnessed exciting action as it was held at the brand new karting track, Chicane circuit in Hyderabad. After two rounds, Shahan Ali Mohsin from Agra (Team Meco Racingowned by international racer Armaan Ebrahim) in Micro Max category, Mohammed Nallawalla from Mumbai (Team Rayo Racing, owned by 8 times National champion Rayomand Banajee) in Junior Max category and Ricky Donison from Bangalore (Team BPC Racing owned by Robert Donison) in Senior Max category are leading in the overall championship points table.

It’s a visual treat to watch when these young talented race drivers display their racing skills at the track. Shahan Ali Mohsin, Ruhaan Alwa, Arjun Nair, Mrinal Chatterjee, Vishnu Prasad, Ameya Bafna, Chittesh Mandody have enthralled the audience with their excellent driving skills as they drove through the karting track in panache. Participating in the national karting championship has helped Shahan & Ruhaan upgrade their karting skills which has helped them win races internationally. This round the audience will get an opportunity to witness 3 Sri Lankan karters in action who will take part in the Junior Max & Senior Max categories.

The six teams participating in the Championship areRayo Racing from Mumbai, Meco Racing from Chennai, Mohite’s Racing from Kolhapur, BPC Racing from Bangalore, Erda Racing from Baroda and Dark Don Racing from Chennai.The drivers representing the 6 teams will be divided in three categories basis their age: Micro Max (7 yrs-12 yrs), Junior Max (13-yrs-15 yrs) & Senior Max (15 yrs & above).

Karting is the first step for any motorsport enthusiast to kick start his motorsport career. It helps a race driver learn the technicalities of professional racing. Each and every race driver on the grid of Formula One still use karting to train themselves. JK Tyre is credited with introducing the concept of Karting in India and has patronized Karting circuits across the country. JK Tyre together with Meco Motorsports introduced the professional level of karting in 2004 with the introduction of the Rotax 2 Stroke Kart Engines. It was then the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship came into being and today it is the only National Karting championship of the country. The winners of the JK Tyre Rotax Max National Karting Championship are selected to represent the country in the Rotax Max World Finals held every year.

The Karting programme of JK Tyre has seen prodigies doing well, both at the national and international levels. Some of these names include those of Karun Chandhok, Armaan Ebrahim, Aditya Patel and Arjun Maini have all graduated from these karting championships to becoming international motorsport icons.
