Ferrari Challenge Championship: Gautam Singhania placed 4th in overall standings

Gautam Hari Singhania currently placed 4th in overall standings at Ferrari MondialiBudapest: Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, Raymond Limited and Founder Chairman, Super Car Club, secured a historic podium finish at the prestigious Ferrari event – Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 at Budapest, Hungary. He finished 2nd in Race 1 and 4th in Race 2 in the Coppa Shell category and had also qualified 2nd and 7th respectively. He is currently placed 4th overall in the championship with 52 points. The Ferrari Challenge Europe Championship 2015 started in April 2015 at Monza, Italy where Singhania secured a double podium finish. He is representing India and is endorsed by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).

Commenting on his historic win, Gautam Hari Singhania said “It is a proud moment for me to secure a podium finish in Race 1 at the third round of the Ferrari Challenge in Budapest, Hungary. It has been a great start for me to this prestigious Ferrari event as I look forward to slowly move up the overall standings and have set my sights on The World Finals 2015.”

Race 1 - Jacques Duyver stayed in first ahead of Gautam Singhania and Erich Prinoth, who did superbly to pinch third place from Fons Scheltema. However, the Italian Ineco-MP Racing driver was out of the running after a few laps, with Kessel Racing regaining the three podium places.

Race 2 - Even more excitement was in store due to the weather conditions: sure enough, it started to rain just as the cars came out of the garage and were about to take off, and so almost all the drivers opted to fit rain tires. Immediately after the start, the rain subsided and so Thomas Loefflad (StileF Squadra Corse), holder of pole position, opted to change tires. In the lead was Vladimir Hladik (Scuderia Praha), who took off with slicks. Vladimir Hladik succeeded in crossing the finish line first, ahead of Tommy Lindroth (Baron Service), who in turn took off with slicks, and Loefflad. Fourth place was for Gautam Singhania.

The entire season comprises in total of 15 races with two races a weekend, spread over six weekends mainly at Monza (ITALY), Imola (ITALY), Mugello (ITALY), Le Castellet (FRANCE), Valencia (SPAIN) and Budapest (HUNGARY). This culminates into to the world finals, consisting of three races in December 2015, where one race is together with the other two regions of Asia and North America. The grid will consist of about 40-50 cars like last year and there's sure to be some competitive racing that promises to be a great experience.

Gautam Hari Singhania raced with the renowned Swiss Team named Kessel Racing that has registered numerous wins and an exhaustive experience under its belt. Former F1 driver and current GT driver Andrea Motermini is his coach for the entire season.
