Pro Kabaddi League: Upbeat Steelers ready to face U Mumba

Haryana Steelers Kabaddi leagueBengaluru: Haryana Steelers Head Coach Ranbir Singh Khokhar has called for his side to focus on their strengths ahead of a second clash against U Mumba, at the DOME@NSCI SVP Stadium, in Mumbai, on Wednesday. The Steelers, whose only loss came against the Bhaskaran Edacherry-coached side, will look to continue their winning streak.

“There is no such thing as form in this League. I have said this before as well, all the teams are equal. U Mumba is a strong team and a unit that fights, they have one of the best raiders in the country and so we really are not at any advantage. We just need to execute our player to player strategies and aim to win this game,” Khokar said.

The Steelers come back into this game after a week’s break following their win against Dabang Delhi K.C. on August 23rd but Khokhar maintains that his side have not taken their foot off the pedal.

“For us this week was not lighter compare to the rest of the weeks. We want to reach the home leg with a winning momentum. We’ve been training hard and concentrating on execution of strategies, which something I felt we missed out on during our match against Delhi,” he said.

Winless in four ahead of their clash against Gujarat Fortunegiants on Tuesday, U Mumba sit on fourth position in Zone A, having played three games more than the Steelers, who are placed third.

Khokhar stressed on the importance of winning consistently, citing its influence on the morale of the side. “It’s very important to get back to back wins. It acts like a confidence booster for the team and the players are motivated to work harder and push themselves. Now that the league has completed a month, it is important for us to assess if our strategies are working or not, and winning games is the best way to do that.”

The match begins at 9 pm and will be telecast live on Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports HD 2, Star Sports First and HotStar.
