Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club (DDKC), the Delhi franchise of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League (SSPKL) pledges victory at Season IV of SSPKL during their first visit to Delhi ahead of their season’s inaugural match. In the fourth edition of SSPKL the team has a completely new composition of new and young players that are rearing to compete for the trophy.
Retaining experienced and star players such as Kashiling Adake and Selvamani K from the previous seasons, the Delhi franchise has added some exceptional players to the squad. The team signed up efficacious players such as the experienced international all-rounder Meraj Sheykh from Iran and the young and energetic Bhupender Singh. Dabang Delhi KC has further strengthened its raiding unit by adding the calm and composed, Deepak Narwal, alongside the experienced Prashant Rai and the new emerging talented raider, Vikash Khandola. The team’s impenetrable defence is guarded by kabaddi stalwarts such as D. Suresh Kumar and Prashant Chavan who have joint the team this season and play a important role in grooming the youngsters.
The jersey for Season IV of SSPKL was also unveiled today by Kashiling Adake, D. Suresh along with DDKC Head Coach Sagar Bandekar and Saumya Khaitan, CEO, Dabang Delhi KC.
Speaking about the team and their plans for the season Saumya Khaitan, CEO, Dabang Delhi KC said, “We have enormous confidence and trust in the our new squad as it has a unique composition of players with years of experience and the multifaceted young talent from different regions of the country, that gives DDKC a considerable edge over its competition. We have also tied up with CADD (Community Against Drunken Driving) to help bring awareness against drinking and driving in the country and CRY to support the girl child. We look forward to putting together a Dabang season this year for all our fans and partners.”
With a completely new strategy and the aspiration of winning the trophy Head Coach - Sagar Bandekar, Dabang Delhi KC said, “Our players are all well-conditioned both mentally and physically. The hard-work, skill and determination that the players are showing gives us complete confidence to outperform any competition this season. It is a team sport and the squad is ready as one force, aiming at the title this season. With a new and energetic squad of young and skilled players, combined with an overarching strategy, we are confident of a great performance this season.”
Continuing their commitment to environment and sustainability, DDKC has made India’s first and only model green venue, the Thyagaraj Stadium their home arena. The team and management has also taken a pledge to create awareness towards society, community and people through a gamut of NGO partnerships. DDKC will be donating a part of the ticket sales as contribution to the efforts of CRY, Uthaan, Water Aid India, Wildlife Conservation Trust and CADD (Community Against Drunk Driving).
Dabang Delhi KC will kick start their season with a clash against the Bengal Warriors on June 27, 2016. The team will host the last leg of the league at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex from July 24-27.
