Atlas Khan Celebrates CAS Hat-Trick

Islamabad: Top-seeded Pakistani Aamir Atlas Khan overcame compatriot Farhan Mehboob, the defending champion, in today's final of the CAS International in Islamabad to notch up his third title in four years in the PSA World Tour Challenger 10 squash event at the Mushaf Squash Complex in the Pakistan capital.

The 22-year-old from Peshawar reached the climax without dropping a game - and lined up against surprise opponent Mehboob, the third seed who made his breakthrough in the previous round where he battled to a five-game win over second-seeded fellow countryman Danish Atlas Khan.

After romping to a two-game lead in the final, world No44 Khan suffered a setback as left-hander Mehboob, ranked more than 50 places lower, took the third game for the loss of just two points.

But the favourite reclaimed the initiative to impose the same game score on his opponent in the fourth to close out the match 11-8, 11-2, 2-11, 11-2.

It was Khan's eighth Tour title triumph, and his second of the year.
