Kyrie Irving no longer wishes to play for Australian Olympic Team

Cleveland: Kyrie Irving of Cleveland Cavaliers and a strong contender for NBA rookie of year conceded that he will not represent Australia in the 2012 London Games played later this year.

Kyrie who plays as a point guard was born in Australia and moved to US when he was two holds a dual citizenship and always had a dream of playing for Australia in the Olympics however denied representing them as he wants to focus on making it to the 2016 US Olympic Team, said a Cleveland Plain Dealer report. He wants to forego of his long time dream after he came to know that his ex coach would come back to coach the US team in next four years.

"It was the right decision," Irving said following the Cavs' 109-100 loss to the Utah Jazz at Quicken Loans Arena,” said Kyrie

"I found out 'Coach K' would be coaching in 2016. It made my decision so much easier to play for my coach again. That was the deciding factor,” added the 19 year old cager.
