Dehra Dun: Welham Girls' School beat Hope Town Girls’ School (8-1) while Welham Boys' School defeated Hilton's School (14-10) to win the 3-on-3 District Basketball Championship for boys and girls conducted at Welham Boys' School here on Sunday.

Earlier, in the girls’ semi-finals, Hope town Girls' School beat Convent of Jesus and Mary School by 04-03 points, while Welham Girls' School thrashed Doon International School by19-01 points.


In the boys’ semi-finals, Welham Boys' School beat Doon School by 9-6 points and Hilton's School routed Raja Ram Mohan Roy Academy by12-1 points.

Ganganjot Juneja, Joint Director, The Asian School and former captain of the Uttarakhand State Junior Basketball team was the chief guest for the finals and gave away the trophies and certificates

The District Basketball Association, Dehra Dun also conducted a rule clinic on 3 on 3 rules. 24 teams in both boys and girls section participated in the Championship, which was played on knock-out basis.
