New Delhi: G Lakshmanan and Swati Gadhave are ready to give their best at India’s most-awaited event of the year, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2016.
G Lakshmanan, an Army runner bagged numerous titles by winning the TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2016, ADHM 2013, and the Cochin Marathon. His timing at the Cochin Marathon was 1:04:38sec, being his personal best. He will participate this year with his fellow male runners Srinu Bugatha, MD Yunus, Pradeep Singh and others.
Srinu Bugathax won the Jaipur Marathon 2015 by finishing the Half Marathon in 1:05:26. MD Yunus won the Kolkata Marathon 2016 with a timing of 2:30:37 and stood third at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2015 with a timing of 01:04:46. Pradeep Singh stood third at the New Delhi Full Marathon with the timing of 1:08.32.
Among the women athletes Swati Gadhave, won the TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2016 with a timing of 34:45, and the 10000m Federation Cup 2016. Sanjeevani Jadhav was the runner up at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru 2016 with a timing of 33:50:99.
The atmosphere created by the presence of Sub 10’ King Asafa Powell will encourage Indian athletes to perform to the best of their abilities. The race will flag off from the iconic Jawaharlal Stadium in New Delhi, on 20th November 2016.
