Ludhiana: Sapna Saini bagged the first place while Komalpreet Kaur came second in the 800m race in the 69th annual athletics meet which was held at the Government College for Women (GCW) in Ludhiana on Wednesday.

The meet was dedicated to Satguru Ram Singhand Namdhari, both are freedom fighters. Teja Singh Dhaliwal, sports promoter, secretary, Punjab Basketball Association, appeared as chief guest on the occasion who explained the need to curb the menace of drug addiction and expressed his concern that 70 per cent of the people of Punjab are physically unfit and also spread the awareness about female foeticide.
