Chandigarh: Hot contender Minerva Football Academy, Chandigarh drubbed JJ Soccer Academy, Bangalore by 21-0 in a one-sided match played at Sector-17 Football Stadium, Chandigarh on Sunday.
Sehjan scored six goals for Minerva in the 6th, 34th, 45th, 53rd, 72nd and 84th minute of play. Nongdamba scored five goals in 18th, 20th 23rd, 40th and 42nd, while Thoiba scored two goals in 11th and 46th minutes of play. Henba scored two goals in 60th and 77th minute and Govind netted two goals in 65th and 70th minutes of play. Meanwhile, Sailo, Amarjeet, Bhagirath and Jackson scored one goal each for Minerva.
Minerva led by 12 goals at the breather. Nicolas of JJ Soccer Academy Bangalore was given marching order by the referee as he was cautioned twice in this match. Kartik and Jay Shankar were the other players to conceive the caution from the referee whereas Bhagirath of Minerva was also cautioned by the referee.
In the other match of the day, Navi Mumbai Football Academy edged past DS Nadiya, Kolkata by 2-0. Both the goals were scored by Mumbai lads in first half. S Shah scored both the goals in 9th and 40th minutes of play. No goal was scored by either side in the second half. Tuhin Mishra of Navi Mumbai and Krishna Roy of DS Nadiya were cautioned by the referee and shown yellow cards.
In the third match of the day Dalbir Football Academy, Patiala blanked Amarjit Football Academy, Kurali by 2-0. Gaurav Kumar scored both the goals for the winners in the 36th and 89th minutes of play. The winners were leading by 1-0 at the breather. Satguru Singh and Moh Tahir of Dalbir Football Academy were cautioned by the referee and shown yellow cards.
In the last match played at Sector-42, Sports Complex, Mahilpur Football Academy shared point with Shakri Sports Association, Gurdaspur. Both the teams scored one goal each. Sahilpreet of Shekri scored first goal in 45th minute of play and the equalizer for Mahilpur was scored by Umesh in the 70th minute of play. Lakhwinder of Shekri was cautioned by the referee and shown yellow card for his involvement in rough play.
