Double ton by Akshdeep Nath put UPCA in driver seat against Punjab in U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy

Lucknow: Akshdeep Nath hammered a double century (238) off 358 balls studded with 25 boundaries and five huge sixes against Punjab in their four-day Col. CK Nayudu Trophy match being played in Lucknow. 

Winning the toss UPCA elected to bat and scored 476 before being bowled out in 172.3 overs.

Punjab in reply were 25 for no loss in nine overs at close of second day’s play. 

UPCA’s innings was sustained by a 60 runs third wicket stand, a 156-run stand for the fourth wicket and 135-run stand for the fifth wicket. Siddharth Dass 47 off 154 balls with six boundaries, Shubham Chaube  54 off 160 balls with six boundaries and Ayush Atri  53 off 151 balls with four boundaries and one six were the main batsman who helped Akashdeep Nath (238) to reach the formidable total of 476.

For Punjab, U-23 off spinner Sukhwinder Singh 3 for 105, left arm spinners Karan Kaile 2 for 89 and Vinay Chaudhary  2 for 92 did most of the damage. 

Punjab opened with Prabhjot Singh and Sunney Pandey were 25 for no loss in 9 overs with Prabhjot Singh unbeaten on 15 and Sunny Pandey on 9.
