Mohali: Zone – B were all out for 215 runs in the first semi-final played between Zone-B and Mohali at PCA Stadium, Mohali, which started on Friday.

Zone-B won the toss and elected to bat. They lost their opener Atul Thakur, who was castled by Randeep Rathi for 1. Then Harmanjit Singh and Jaipreet put on 28 runs for the second wicket before Harmanjit Singh was caught by Prabhjot Singh off Karan Kaila for 04. Randeep Rathi struck again to castle Yuvraj before the batsman could open his account. At this stage Zone-B were looking down the barrel with 30 runs on the board for loss of three wickets.
Thereafter Arjun Kumar and Jaipreet put on 27 runs for the fiurth wicket before Jaipreet was caught by Prabhjot off Sukhwinder for 43 off 66 balls with seven boundaries. Arjun Kumar and Sandeep Kumar then added 43 runs for the fifth wicket before Arjun Kumar became Rathi’s third victim when he was caught by Anmolpreet for 34 off 80 balls with 6 boundaries.

Sandeep Kuamr continued to flourish but was trapped in front by Karan Kaila for 84 off 212 balls inclusive of 11 boundaries. Thereafter, Zone B kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 215 in 85.2 overs.
For Patiala Randeep Rathi 3 for 59, Karan Kaila 3 for 43 and Sukhwinder 4 for 63 were the most successful bowlers.
Patiala opened with Prabhjot Singh and Harjinder Singh but Prabhjot was sent back clean bowled by Sunil on the first ball of the innings before the batsman could open his account. Patiala got another jolt when Sagar Kumar was caught for 06 of the bowling of Harpreet Brar for 06 reducing Patiala to 14 for 2 in 7 overs at close of first days play.
