Rajasthan pip Mumbai on better run rate to enter finals of Dhruv Pandove Cricket Tournament

Chandigarh: Rajasthan defeated Assam by an innings and 67 runs at Sector 16 Stadium to garner seven points, including a bonus to take their tally to 11 points to be at par with Mumbai U-19 here on Tuesday. Rajasthan qualified for the finals on better run quotient. Rajasthan had quotient of 1.726 while Mumbai had quotient of 1.558

Rajasthan bowled out Assam for 83 in 29.2 overs with Yatin Malik 26 being the sole batsman to enter the double figures. Nathu Singh 5 for 30 and Shubam Sharma 3 for 5 engineered Assam's collapse. Following on Assam were bowled for 230 in 60.1 overs.

Yatin Malik 61, Yasir Ali 70, Roshan Alam 37 ,Raja Kudin Ahmed 39 were the main contributors with the bat.

Shubam Sharma 8 for 74 was the most successful bowler for Rajasthan and he was named man of the match.

Punjab got first innings lead against Bengal and got 3 points while Bengal got one. Punjab raised their tally to 9 to set up a title clash with Rajasthan. The four day final will be played at Dhruv Pandove Stadium Patiala from 10-13 October,2013. Bengal were bowled out for 235 in 76.4 overs. Abhimanyu Iswaran fought a lone battle for Bengal as he smashed 153 runs off 204 balls studded with 15 boundaries. while Karan Kaila 6 for 49 was the most successful bowler for Punjab. Punjab in their 2nd innings were 18 for no loss.
