Yashi blanks Tamanna in Table Tennis

 

Ludhiana: The inaugural edition of the Ludhiana District Open Games being organized by Ek Pehal began at the GLADA Sports Complex, Sector 38, on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road today.

 

More than 150 participants in the sub junior, junior and senior categories have registered for participation in three disciplines- table tennis, athletics and badminton.

 

Matches (table tennis) in the boys as well as girls U-14 were held on the opening day. In the girls’ section, Yashi Sharma blanked Tamanna 11-4, 11-6 and 11-7 to emerge victorious while Tanya Munjal secured the third place.

 

In the boys’ section, Parivansh quelled a strong resistance from Jasjot Singh before romping home winner 11-9, 11-8 and 11-7. Mandeep Singh finished third.
