Kochi: State Bank of Travancore (SBT) entered the semifinals of the 31st Coromandel Cement cricket tournament with a comprehensive 72-run win over EKK Perumbavoor CC at Ambalamugal on Thursday.
Batting first, SBT made 200 for 8. K.J. Rakesh (72) and Sony Cheruvathur (57) were the leading scorers. For the bowling side, Arun Raj took 3 for 32.
In another match, BPCL Kochi Refineries defeated Muthoot ECC ‘B’ by 60 runs to book their place in the last-four stage of the competition.Taking first strike, BPCL made 207 for 6. Jineesh (67), Aslam (39), Akhil Pillai (34 n.o.) and Basil Bin (32 n.o.) were the main contributors. In reply, Muthoot were all out for 147. Gopakumar (4/24) and Shanib M. (2/22) shone with the ball.
