Chandigarh: Players of the Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA) have taken the Chandigarh boys’ under-16 team to the final of the 34th Mir-Iqbal Hussain Sub-Junior Football Trophy, under way at Vasco in Goa.
In the semifinals, Chandigarh defeated Uttar Pradesh 3-1. Chandigarh conceded the first goal in the second minute. Right-in Harsharang, a CFA trainee, levelled the score in the 14th minute.
Just before the lemon break, Harsharang scored a brilliant field goal. Uttar Pradesh tried hard to pull one back, but Ramdin, another CFA trainee, built a counter-attack and scored the third goal.
