Here we bring to you the hits and flops from the match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai super Kings.

HITS

Mitchell Johnson: Johnson was stunning with the ball against Chennai Super Kings. He picked up three wickets in his second over which made the significant impact on CSK’s innings. He ran through the top-order of CSK in a flash which earned him the man-of-the-match award.

Pragyan Ojha: Ojha picked up three wickets in his 2.2 overs. He gave away just 11 runs and got the big wickets of Mike Hussey, MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja and handed over a much-needed win to Mumbai Indians.

Lasith Malinga: Slinga-Malinga did bowl some very fine yorkers and picked up two wickets in his spell of three overs. He gave away just six runs in his three overs and bowled his slow yorkers in the right manner.

Harbhajan Singh:
Turbanator dismissed Ravi Ashwin and ended up with the figures of 1/13 in his four overs. He was absolutely brilliant with the ball and he restricted the flow of runs quite well. Apart from exceptional bowling, he played a bizarre innings of 25 runs off just 11 balls that made the difference as Mumbai reached a stiff total of 139 in their 20 overs.

Mike Hussey: Hussey was extremely lucky as he was dropped thrice by Keiron pollard on the same shot in the first over of the CSK’s innings. But thereafter he was the only CSK batsman who showed some mettle as he went onto score 22 runs off 26 balls but he went into the shell after the loss of three wickets in the third over of the innings.

Ravichandran Ashwin:
Ashwin did some fine bowling and picked up the crucial wicket of Ambati Rayudu who was trying to go for a biggie. He gave away just 11 runs in his two overs.

Ravindra Jadeja: Jadeja was sensational with the ball as he picked up three wickets in his four overs and gave away just 29 runs. He batted decently and scored 20 runs in this first loss of Chennai after
winning seven matches in a row.

Rohit Sharma:
Sharma did some fine job not just as a batsman but also as a captain. He scored 34 runs off 30 balls and tried to steady the ship of Mumbai Indians which was in all sorts of trouble till the 12th over of the innings. His bowling changes worked out well which made the significant impact on the outcome of this match.

FLOPS

Keiron Pollard: Pollard dropped four catches in this match and scored just one run. He dropped three back to back catches of Mike Hussey. Apart from that, he has been out-of-form in last few matches with the bat and bringing him up the order was not a sensible decision.

Murali Vijay:
Vijay had another bad day on the field as he got out after scoring just two runs. He was dismissed by Johnson whose second over was the turning point of this glittering match.

Subramaniam Badrinath:
Badrinath was trapped in front of off and middle stump to an inswinging delivery from Mitchell Johnson. Badrinath couldn’t have done much against that perfect in-swinger and went for a duck.

Suresh Raina:
Raina got out without scoring a run as he tried to play the ball on the on-side but it took the edge and went into the hands of Keiron Pollard who made a full-stretched dive to take his first catch of the match.

Sachin Tendulkar:
Tendulkar was disappointing with the bat as he got out after consuming too many balls. He was looking in good touch as he scored one four and one six in his 15 runs knock off 18 balls. He needs to stop pushing himself too hard while he is batting as it is doing no good to his current form.

Ben Laughlin:
Laughlin did bowl some brilliant Yorkers but wasn’t effective as his others team mates. He was the most expensive bowler of the match as he gave away 46 runs in his four overs which turned out to be the decisive factor in this match.
