The T20 World Cup is back again and the fans will get to see their favourite players in action again. The format started off as a hunting ground for the batsmen, but the over the bowlers too started to adapt to game. The bowlers have changed their approach over the years and also brought in new variations.
The World Cup will have lot of good bowlers in action and here are few of the bowlers to watch out for:
Shahid Afridi: He is the most successful bowler in T20 World Cup. He has taken 27 wickets in 20 matches in three editions of the tournament and has been instrumental in Pakistan’s T20 success in 2009. His knack at breaking partnerships is what makes him a lethal force. He brings variety along with his bowling and is a very clever customer. Batsmen find it hard to score against him and he will hold key to Pakistan’s performance in the upcoming tournament.
Lasith Malinga: The ambassador of T20 World Cup, Malinga will spearhead the Sri Lankan bowling attack. He has taken 40 wickets in 33 T20 matches. If his toe crushing yorkers and swing intimidate bowlers at the start of the innings then it is his reverse swing and slowers during the death over that catches batsmen on the wrong foot.
Morne Morkel: His expertise in this format was seen during the IPL season V. His vicious and precise line and length has made him one of the most dreaded bowlers of this format. He has been one of the reasons why Delhi has done so well in the IPL and he would be asked by his captain will be depending on him a lot.
Stuart Broad: The skipper of England has changed drastically after getting hit for six consecutive sixes in an over in the first edition of the T20 World Cup. He has developed a lot and now is one of the premier bowlers in the world cricket. He has taken 19 wickets from 17 World Cup matches.
Sunil Narine: Narine has not played in any of the previous editions of the World Cup but then his exploits in IPL season V has made him a force to reckon to. He has toyed with almost all the batsmen in the IPL and even best players of the spin have failed to pick him. He will be spearheading the West Indies bowling attack.
