If any team is touted as the favorites to win the T20 World Cup by the cricketing pundits then it is India, Winner of the inaugural edition in South Africa and the current World Champions, they do start as a favorite in the tournament.
India did have good season so as far the T20 is concerned and did play well in the warm up games of the tournament as well. They are the best team in the World when it comes to playing in the Indian sub-continent conditions.
They are currently ranked seventh in the ICC T20 rankings but then that would hardly matter for the men in blue when the take to the field in the tournament.
The team is in good shape and most of the players featuring in the side are proven match winners. India’s strength is their batting line-up and they have some of the best batsmen in the world. Virat Kohli is going through great form and he will look forward to carry his momentum. India will open their innings with Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag and if they get going then things will get difficult for the other teams. Then in the middle order they have Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh who can run rampage at any given situation.
Bowling department will be spearheaded by the experienced Zaheer Khan and will be supported by Irfan Pathan, R Ashwin and Harbhajan Singh. There might be a little concern as far as the bowling is concerned as seen in the past and they will have to avoid it.
