I have never seen playing Diego Maradona live but when Lionel Messi reached his top form, everyone started saying “He is the Maradona of this century”. Those words forced me to watch Maradona’s game on Youtube.
Maradona started his career in the age of 14 who is too young for any player to start his international career. His dribbling skills, playmaking, passing, ball control could impress anyone from any generation.
Later, Barcelona put his eye on the young talent and did not take time to sign the legend in the making for a record of £5 million. From there, the 22-year old started his glorious career to become the best player in the world. He was the toughest player for everyone to catch, to stop. Everybody screamed and cheered when he dribbled the ball and convert it into a goal. There was no place on the ground where he didn’t put his leg on.
The transfers and staying in Barcelona for too much time tells us the caliber of the iconic player. Besides, Maradona was also a highly controversial player. After having netted “Hand of god goal”, he also got suspended for 15 months failing in a drug test. He made his comeback but that wasn’t that affective.
However, Maradona was a one who made No. 10 jersey famous. He set many records and is truly a Legend.
