Is Zizou the right person for Real?

After a six-month tenure at Real Madrid, Rafa Benitez had been sacked. And to everyone's surprise it wasn't 'The special one' who replaced him, it was Zinedine Zidane who was appointed as the new manager for the Galacticos. Even though Benitez was ruthless against small teams, he wasn't that effective during the big games. But the big question is whether Zizou is the right man to guide Madrid to glory.

Whether he's the right person or not, we can expect certain things from him. After 21 sackings in the last 20 years for Madrid, pressure is on Zizou from day 1. Maybe this is a time where Real Madrid have started to copy Barcelona by appointing their own club legend as their manager. This is surely an opportunity for both the club and the manager to look for the long-term goals. Instead of tasting success at very short period of time, club president Perez must wait and be patient with Zidane.

Zizou's first training session as a manager had begun with great support from the fans. There is one thing which would surely change, the gameplay. There will be a heavier role offered to the attacking midfielders. One can expect a change of play by James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos. Kroos though is unsettled at Madrid, can be a great asset to the team.

At present, it is sure that the defence must improve. Inconsistent performance from the defenders has cost them the big games. It is time to sell the ageing Pepe and buy a new centreback as a substitute for Varane. Marcelo must improve on his defensive game while his attack is excellant. Major concern in the defence seems to be skipper Sergio Ramos. The Spaniard of lately hasn't been in his best owing to his injuries. It is a must that he finds his form quickly.

Dipping form of Ronaldo and inconsistent Bale also seem to be a concern for Zizou. But it is just a matter of time before Ronaldo and Bale go on a rampage. Rotating Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema would have them fresh and raring in every single game

Zidane has always expressed his interest in Hazard. The arrival of the unsettled and out of favour Chelsea player might turn to be a huge plus, but then players like Modric , Isco,Kroos, Kovacic, Casemiro and Odegaard may not play regularly. Odegaard can be loaned out for a season or two so that he can have more playtime. There is lot of work for Zizou to do, so let us wait and watch the legend do his part with the fan's support.
