IPL –6 Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils: Hits and flops from Match No. 67Kings XI Punjab added another two points to their points-tally as they defeated Delhi Daredevils by a slender margin of seven runs on Thursday. Adam Gilchrist, David Miller and Shaun Marsh ensured that Kings XI Punjab post a stiff total of 171 in their 20 overs, but it was some brilliant bowling from the duo of Sandeep Sharma and Praveen Kumar, who picked up early wickets, that saw their team home.

Kings XI Punjab


David Miller: Miller was the star performer for Kings XI once again as he smoked away the Daredevils in final overs with his blistering 44 runs which came off just 24 balls.


Sandeep Sharma: Sharma was brilliant with the ball as he gave away just 23 runs and picked up three wickets in his four overs. He gave some early blows to make sure that DD remains on the back-foot.


Ben Rohrer: Rohrer was sensational and brought his side quite close to victory. He smashed 49 runs off which 34 came in boundaries. He got bowled by Piyush Chawla in the final over.


Adam Gilchrist: Gilchrist kept his great form going as he smashed 42 runs off just 26 balls. Gilly was looking in great touch and was coming hard on the bowlers in the overs of power-play.


Virender Sehwag: Sehwag didn’t come out to bat in the power-play overs but compensated well as he scored 30 runs off 22 balls. He smacked six fours in his innings before he was dismissed by Parwinder Awana.


Morne Morkel: Morkel was looking in great rhythm as he bowled his four overs for just 22 runs and picked up the wicket of Shaun Marsh at a very crucial stage of the match.


Shaun Marsh: Marsh was once again looking in great touch with the bat as he scored 45 runs off 44 balls. He started off slowly and tried to bat for as long as possible.


Praveen Kumar: Kumar was scintillating with the ball and kept beating batsmen. He made sure that DD were off to a bad start and on top of that, he bagged the wicket of Unmukt Chand.


FLOPS


Azhar Mahmood: Mahmood had a really bad day on the field. He got smacked for 40 runs in his four overs. He kept bowling the wrong length in death overs and paid the price quite heavily. He didn’t contribute much with the bat as he was dismissed after scoring nine runs.


Siddharth Kaul: Kaul came in the line of fire from the duo of Marsh and Gilchrist. His balls kept finding the boundary ropes as he was trying to bowl wide to them. His inexperience was reflected in his bowling as he ended up with the figures of 0/40.


Umesh Yadav: Yadav was once again disappointing with the ball as he gave away 38 runs in his four overs. He has been in very poor form in last few matches.


David Warner: Warner didn’t contribute anything with the bat as he was dismissed by Sandeep very cheaply. His fielding was not up to the mark as he failed to stop some boundaries.


Unmukt Chand: Chand disappointed DD fans once again as he departed after scoring seven off 13 balls. He was not finding it easy to time the ball and finally he was sent to dug-out by the beauty of the delivery bowled by Praveen.
