Way things shaped up in a last couple of weeks, a strong question that is doing rounds in my mind is what is wrong with our national team captain MS Dhoni. Why did a bizarre idea such as rotation policy come to his mind? Why is he headstrong about not letting all three openers, including sachin tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir play at the same time because apparently that would disturb India’s fielding?

Well now that he has already said that there is nothing he could do about it. All now that this nation filled with fanatics would seek a justification from him. He wants a great fielding side, but does he see that his fielding stalwarts cannot even score 50 runs collectively.

Dhoni must be a great captain and led India to many successes but now has he become that great a player that he can just chuck Sachin unceremoniously out of the team just like Ganguly. Let me just share this that it has been around three years or more when Ganguly retired, but since then India could not find his replacement. Does he want the same with Sachin? He achieved a lot and let him play on his own terms. He has done what no other people could do for Indian cricket. At least Dhoni needs to respect the fact and also should keep in mind that it was because of Sachin that he became the skipper of this high profiled team.

And one thing people fail to understand is why Dhoni is fixated with fielding so much. To me it is a lame excuse. A team requires a good fielding unit, but not at the cost of batting or bowling. In a team you are either a bowler or a batsman. This is the first time that we are hearing such a thing where team selection is looking at the swiftness of your player.

Coming back to this rotation policy, why is he not trying to rotate the middle order? His blue eyed boy Raina looked totally miserable on the tour so far and do not know the reason as to why is he still playing in the side. Why he is not dropped and one of the openers adjusted as a one down batsman? After all he is trying to experimenting and failed in it. So he should try out this option as well. Who knows that might click and do wonders for India. 

This rotation policy shocked everyone and even the former players could not help but label it as illogical and utter nonsense. Dhoni should stop this nonsense policy to accommodate his loved ones in the team. He should wise up before things go out of hands and take Indian cricket to an all time low.
