New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will launched a talent hunt campaign to unearth bowling talent through open trials for pacemen and spinners at various centres across four states.
The National Cricket Academy will conduct these trials in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. The trials are scheduled to go on for couple of weeks and candidates in the age group of 17- 22 years will be eligible for participation. Those who have played in any BCCI-run tournament will get additional advantage in participation criteria.
Karsan Ghavri, bowling coach at the specialised fast-bowling academy in Chandigarh, and Yoginder Puri, former Himachal Pradesh medium-pacer, will supervise the trials and shortlist the bowlers for the NCA.
The trials are scheduled to be held in Himachal's Dharamsala on February 18 and 19 and in Jammu on February 22 and 23. The next camp will be held in Ranchi on February 25 and in Raipur on February 28.
