Onkar Singh is new Secretary General of Asian cycling body

New Delhi: Cycling Federation of India (CFI) Secretary General Onkar Singh has been elected as the new Secretary General of Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC), while CFI President Parminder Singh Dheendsa was elected as Vice President in the ACC Congress in Bahrain.

Onkar, who became Secretary General of Cycling Federation of India in 2011, on Friday took over from Boo Woong Choi, according to a release.

He's promoted cycling in India and marketed it across the globe by organising Track Asia Cup and the recent 37th Asian Track Cycling Championships held at New Delhi.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Osama Ahmad Al Shafar from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the new president of ACC, taking over from Hee Wook Cho of Korea.
