Aditi Ashok wins All-India Ladies and Juniors Girls Golf C’ship

Aditi-Ashok-Day-1-leadBengaluru: Aditi Ashok staved off a spirited challenge from Nishtha Madan to snare the strokeplay event in the Ladies section of the Usha IGU All-India Ladies and Juniors Girls Golf Championship 2014 Par 72 Eagleton Golf Resort on Thursday, ending up with a tally 214, two ahead of Nishtha.

Aditi had a card of 74 in the final round on Thursday, but Nishtha had a great last nine as she carded a par 72 and put pressure on Aditi. But Aditi’s second-round 67 was good enough to keep her ahead of the challenge.

Seher Atwal (74) and Ridhima Dilawari (75) were tied at 218 for joint third.

Aditi had a pretty average round, with three birdies and an equal number of bogeys in the first nine. She turned with a par 36, but lost two more strokes on the back nine. Nishtha, on the other hand, played a solid back nine to end up with a one-under 35, but that wasn’t enough in the final analysis.
