Big blow for Rajasthan Royals as Hodge ruled out with a knee injury

New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals suffered a big blow as they lost Brad Hodge who has been ruled out of the finals of the Champions League T20 due to a knee injury.


The injury occured during the semi-final match against Chennai Super Kings where Hodge had a terrible collision with another Aussie Shane Watson while they were tring to save a single in the last over of the match.


The Aussie had to go off the field, and scans were performed on his knee and a decision was taken that Hodge would not be able to recover from his injury before the final which is scheduled to be played on Sunday.


Brad Hodge has had an fantastic tournament with the bat, having scored 109 runs in three innings, including two not-outs at a strike rate of 198. He played a crucial role in the middle-order for the Royals and did the job of a finisher.


Hodge's 52 off 23 balls against Otago Volts turned the match on its head as it gave the Royals a chance to secure a place in the semi-finals in front of the home crowd.
