New Delhi: Indian Shotgun shooters performed remarkably well during the ongoing 3rd Asian Shotgun Championship at Almaty, Kazakhstan from October 1 to 10. Overall, the Shotgun Shooters won 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals during the championship.
Manavjit Singh Sandhu won the individual bronze medal and in the process also equaled the Asian record in qualification round with the score of 124/125. Also, the senior trap team comprising Manavjit Singh Sandhu (124), Mr. Zoravar Singh Sandhu (121) and Mansher Singh (120) won Gold medal with all the three shooters reaching the finals finishing at 3rd, 5th and 6th positions respectively.
Manavjit Singh Sandhu also won gold medal in 4th Union Championship (Grand Prix) which was held concurrently with the 3rd Asian Shotgun Championship at Almaty, thereby winning a prize money of USD 5000.
In women's Trap event, Seema Tomar reached the finals with a score of 70/75 and finished 4th.
