Best of Sachin in ODI's and Test matches

Sachin-Tendulkar-testAfter playing the game with the same kind of passion for close to 24 years Sachin Tendulkar has decided to call it a day from all forms of the game after playing his 200th Test match against the West Indies next month. Here is a look at some of the best knocks out of many played by him over the years in Test matches and one-day cricket.

Sachin in Test Matches:

248* VS Bangladesh at Dhaka in 2004: While many might question the oppossition and their bowling credentials but a Test century is a Test century and one has to earn it. Whether it is Bangladesh or Australia a batsman still has to score the runs and Tendulkar showed how to build an innings on that day. Incidentally, this was Tendulkar's 34th Test ton who equalled the record of Sunil Gavaskar, who at that point in time held the record for most Test hundreds.

241* VS Australia at Sydney in 2004: The Sydney Test match will be forever remembered for the way Tendulkar paced his innings in a series where he kept getting out nicking the ball in the slips. As a result he decided to avoid playing the cover drive till the time he was well past 200 which just goes to show the kind of control he had over his game.

214 VS Australia at Bangalore in 2010: The year 2010 turned out to be a very special one as Sachin Tendulkar kept piling on the runs at ease even when he was reaching an age which cannot be termed as too young. He went on to score 1000 runs in that calender year and single-handedly took India to a win at Bangalore with a delightful 214.

sachinSachin in One-day matches:

200* VS South Africa at Gwaliorin 2010: The superman from India, Sachin Tendulkar became the first man on the face of the planet to have scored a double-century in an one-day match against South Africa. It was a knock where Tendulkar played shots all around the wicket and reduced a strong and formidable South African bowling to a mere club level attack.

186* VS New Zealand at Hyderabad in 1999: New Zealand just found themselves at the receiving end on that day as Sachin Tendulkar along with Rahul Dravid made mince meat of the New-Zealand attack as India went on to post a mamoth total on the board. Both the players were involved in a partnership of more than three hundred runs as Tendulkar did bulk of the scoring, smashing it to all parts of the ground.

175 VS Australia at Hyderabad in 2009: This is probably one of the best one-day knocks the world has seen as Sachin Tendulkar kept India in the tall run-chase. Sachin was in his elements as he kept the score board ticking after the Aussies had put up 351 runs in the board. It was one of those knocks which went in vain as India fell short of the target.
