Lajong look to get back to winning ways

Shillong: When Shillong Lajong take on United SC at the Jawaharlal Stadium in Shillong on Saturday (October 19, 2013), it will be a fierce test of their resilience at home after their back to back losses against Sporting Clube De Goa and East Bengal in their last two home matches.

Everything is at stake for Thangboi Singto’s men as they seek to reclaim their rightful place at home-the winner’s circle. Eelco Schattorie’s team though, will be seeking to pull off their second win of the season. A tinge of revenge will be on the cards too, having lost their last game at Shillong by a narrow one-goal margin (3-2 to Lajong).

At the pre-match conference, Thangboi stated that the team has to play “the best and the right” football in order to take home all the three points. He also said “All the players are fit for selection, but we do have one injury concern”.

His counterpart, Schattorie, while commenting on the Reds, said: “We will be going all out for a win and yes, we do have a little bit of a score to settle with Shillong Lajong”.
