Zaheer preparing for comeback, heads to South Africa to improve his skills and fitness

The out of favour fast bowler Zaheer Khan is keen to make a comeback in the Indian team after getting dropped from the  side due to poor form and lack of fitness.

Zaheer, who has been the spearhead of the Indian bowling for almost a decade had been struggling with form and fitness off late and has undergone treatment for his injury as well.

Recently Zaheer along with his team mate Yuvraj Singh, who is also trying to make a comeback was seen training in France to regain their fitness and Zaheer seemed to have lost a few kilos and is well on his way to make a comeback into national reckoning.

After working out in France Zaheer Khan has now traveled all the way to South Africa to improve his skills and fitness. He is training with South African provincial team Knights. Zaheer had asked the Knights fitness expert Adrian le Roux to help him with his pre-season conditioning during the IPL in May and is said to be a close friend of the fast bowler.

The Knights are training in Bloemfontein for the past couple of days along with Zaheer who was also seen participating in the training sessions ahead of the training camp in Port Elizabeth next week.

Zaheer Khan has been picked for the India 'A' squad who are playing the West Indies 'A' and the upcoming matches would be the key to make a statement to the selectors about his fitness and form just before the South Africa tour which will be followed by the New-Zealand tour.

The left arm fast bowler has represented India in 88 Test matches and had been the mentor of the fast bowling department of the Indian team for quite sometime before losing his place to the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav and Ishant,Sharma.
