New Delhi: The 2nd Asian Youth Games is scheduled to be held at Nanjing, China, from August 15 to 24 this year. Around 30 youth boys and girls (under-18) from across the country are currently in a coaching camp which commenced last month at SAI Centre, Lakshmibai National College of Physical Education (LNCPE) in Thiruvananthapuram.

Eleven athletes from the above camp have already taken part in the World Youth Championships held at Donetsk, Ukraine, recently.

In order to select the team for Asian Youth Games the Athletics Federation of India is planning to conduct an “Open Trials” at SAI Centre, LNCPE, Thiruvananthapuram on Friday, the 26th July 2013 at 11:00 A.M.

Youth athletes (under-18) wishing to take part in the above trials should report at the above venue latest by 10:00 A.M. on 26th July 2013 along with their age-proof.

Trials will be conducted in the following events which are included in the Asian Youth Games at Nanjing—

YOUTH BOYS:

100m, 200m, 400, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 2000m Steeplechase, 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw and Javelin Throw;

YOUTH GIRLS:

100m, 200m, 400, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 2000m Steeplechase, 100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Hammer Throw and Javelin Throw;
