No place for Kapil's Devils in Kapil's ODI XI

No place for Kapil's Devils in Kapil's ODI XINew Delhi: Legendary Kapil Dev on Thursday chose Mahendra Singh Dhoni to lead his all-time best Indian ODI line-up while excluded himself from the team, saying the list included the best Indian players in the shortest version.

Kapil's team consists of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Azharuddin along with fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath. The spin department is led by legendary Anil Kumble with Harbhajan Singh being the other spinner. IT also has place for all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as the 12th man. However, the team does not have any name from the 1983 World Cup winning team.

Kapil Dev, who lead India to its first World Cup title in 1983, said that people could disagree with him but this was the best ODI for him and said that it was personal view.

"Though we won the 1983 World Cup, the fact remains that we weren't the best side. West Indies were by far the better side. We won because of our confidence," said Kapil, adding that Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led team which won the Champions Trophy in England this year is the best-ever team in the history of Indian cricket.

"Even without Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan they won the Cup. Nobody really missed the stars. To it this is a fantastic fielding side. I have never seen such outstanding fielding side in the history of Indian cricket," said Kapil.
