Mumbai: Sandeep Patil is his first assignment as the chief selector of Mumbai Cricket Association has named Ajit Agarkar as the captain of the upcoming Ranji Trophy.

Agarkar who captained Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare trophy back in February this year has been given the responsibility of leading Mumbai in the first four matches.

Meanwhile the selectors also named Ajinkya Rahane in the Under 25 team with Sarvesh Damble as the skipper.

Mumbai begin their Ranji season against Railways on November 2 whereas Mumbai U-25 will lock horns against Indore on October 19.
