London: Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda won a silver medal in the Men’s High Jump F42 event at the 2012 Paralympic Games at London. It is India’s first medal at the event.
The 24-year old from Karnataka, who has an impairment in his left leg successfully jumped over the height of 1.74m to finish second.
Iliesa Delana of Fiji won the gold, while Lukasz Mamczarz of Poland settled for bronze.
Although Delana finished on the same height of 1.74m as Girisha and Mamczarz but won gold the virtue of taking less jumps.
