India vs NZ: India lose both openers, still need 173 runs to win

Bangalore: New Zealand started the fourth day leading India by 244 runs. On crease were Jeetan Patel and Trent Boult. Patel hit some good strokes before succumbing to a bad decision. Together the no. 10 and 11 batsmen for New Zealand put 26 important runs.

India needed 261 runs to win the series 2-0. Indian openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir started the innings with a flurry of boundaries. Both players were in the attacking mould and looked to score some quick runs against the new ball.

Sehwag who was looking to dominate the proceedings, played a wild shot to lose his wicket to Patel

Gambhir struck some beautiful boundaries through the off-side before getting out to an out-swinger from Boult. He hit seven boundaries in his innings of 34.

On crease at Lunch were Pujara and Tendulkar with India still needing 173 runs to win.
