Nehru Cup 2012 Finals: India vs Cameroon: Players to watch out for...

Finally it is down to the day. The defending Champions India will lock horns with the African Giants Cameroon in the finals of the 2012 Nehru Cup. The teams have already met before in league stages with Cameroon winning the match 1-0. The match was inconsequential so it did not have much of bearing on the points table, but then both the teams got a taste of each other.

Last match saw the teams giving a chance to test their bench, but then today it will be a different ball and both the teams will go in with their strongest combination.

Here are few of the players to watch out for in the match:

Sanju Pradhan: The young lad playing in his first tournament has shown lot of intent. He has been spectacular on the right flank and has been great with runs on the flank. He has been great with his long balls and cross.

Syed Rahim Nabi: Arguably the best player for India in the Nehru Cup.The left back has been a livewire on the flanks and his overlapping runs have created problems for the oppositions throughout the tournament. He has been linking well with the midfield and has scored a goal in the tournament and will play a huge role in the match.

Sunil Chhetri: India’s skipper has been leading the team from the front and already has scored three goals in the tournament. He has been playing very well and the team would expect him to play and make inroads for the team.

Cameroon:

Ebanga Bertin: The set piece specialist of Cameroon, he has been at the top of his game and has already scored four goals in the tournament. He missed a penalty in the last match against India trying to take a panenka kick. It was an inconsequential match so he might got little casual with his game, but then expect him to be at the top of his game.

Paul Roland: The skipper with the experience of playing in the Beijing Olympics has been like a rock in the defence line. The player who has had the distinction of marking renowned strikers during the Olympics is using his experience to the optimum and has been able to avert dangers successfully so far in the tournament. He will be responsible to stop the Indian forwards from making inroads in the match.

Kingue Mpondo: The midfielder is having a great tournament and is heart of Cameroon midfield. He has been very good with his ball distribution in the tournament and has been linking well with the defenders and forwards. He has also scored three goals in the tournament.
